CSIR NET December 2023 Answer Key : The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has released the answer key for the National Eligibility Test (NET) held on December 19, 2023. The candidates who appeared for the exam can download the answer key from the official website of CSIR, www.csirhrdg.res.in.
The CSIR NET exam is conducted twice a year, in June and December, to determine the eligibility of candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and Lectureships (LS) in various subjects under the faculty of Science. CSIR NET Exam 2023 marking scheme
The candidates can use the answer key to estimate their score in the exam by following the marking scheme.
The marking scheme for the CSIR NET exam is as follows:
- For Part A, each question carries two marks, and there is a negative marking of 0.5 mark for each wrong answer.
- For Part B, each question carries two or three marks, depending on the subject, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 or 0.375 mark for each wrong answer, respectively.
- For Part C, each question carries four or five marks, depending on the subject, and there is a negative marking of 0.5 or 0.625 mark for each wrong answer, respectively.
The candidates can calculate their raw score by adding up the marks obtained for the correct answers and deducting the marks lost for the wrong answers. The raw score is then normalized using a formula to obtain the final score.

The NTA also provides an opportunity for the candidates to challenge the provisional answer key if they find any errors or discrepancies in it. The candidates can submit their objections online through the official website of NTA by paying a fee of Rs. 1000 per question. The objections can be submitted online through a link provided on the website from February 15 to February 18, 2024. The fee is refunded if the challenge is accepted by the NTA. The NTA then releases a final answer key after considering all the objections raised by the candidates. The final answer key is used to prepare the result and merit list of the CSIR NET exam.

The result and merit list of the CSIR NET exam are expected to be declared by the NTA within a month after the release of the final answer key.
The candidates can check their result and download their scorecard from the official website of NTA using their application number and date of birth.

CSIR NET December 2023 Merit list & Cut off
The NTA prepares two merit lists for each subject: one for JRF and one for LS. The merit lists are prepared based on the cut-off marks decided by the NTA for each subject and category.
